"Drinkning tea with a chawan (tea bowl) begins from warming the bowl, setting the tea leaves, then pouring the water. Watch as the steam fills your view and the fragrance engulfs you. The tea leaves unfurl and relaxes until the tea, water, and bowl become one.
Savor a sip of hot tea and realize that the leaves have gone through birth and growth in the garden until it is made into tea just to meet with you in this one-of-a-kind bowl. Taste again the warm tea. It warms your hand and your heart. By placing the chawan in your hands, you too have participated in the tea leaves' life journey through nature.
